Anthony Vaccarello’s Fall 2012 Ready to Wear collection makes it easy to show some skin without crossing the fine/trashy line and exposing too much. His answer…sometimes half is just enough! Taking a page from Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2012 Couture show, Vaccarello’s latest collection is establishing him as a designer to watch.

As always when watching the OSCAR Red Carpet, or any red carpet really, we were struck by the vintage inspired looks. Our three favorite looks of the night appeared to be variations on classic design elements, most featured on our website. So with vintage, you can still be perfectly on trend..more so then you realize….Shop fro your OSCAR looks on FROCKNYC.COM!

Not since Paulo Melim Andersson was replaced after his debut FW ’07 collection for Chloé, see Style.com’s coverage, have we mourned the loss of a visionary from a power-house such as the recent dethroning of Raf Simons at Jil Stuart- especially when a remarkable six-year, 14+ collection, non-name-sake run is at hand.
Behold our tribute to what we at FROCK believe to be his best and most iconic looks from nearly each of his womenswear collections for the Jil Stuart house, aside from his PF12 collection- although the collection was brilliant, the grouping of models in each image threw off our clean aesthetic below (a clean design that Raf, himself, would be proud of)!

Double Take
Saturday, February 18, 2012
Contemporary fashion always draws inspiration from the past … With that said, red carpets lately have been leaving us taking double takes. We love seeing the vintage inspiration behind today’s looks, so we decided to pair up these celebs’ latest fashion choices with their FROCK counterparts!
See the resemblance? Past or Present…Which is your favorite?

Mary Katrantzou and Norma Kamali are the two latest designers to join the diffusion line craze. Katrantzou debuted her online collaboration with TopShop this morning which is said to sell out by the end of the day! The nine piece collection focuses on Greek-born Katrantzou’s trademark vibrant prints and elements of structure. It may be at a lower price point but this collection will still run you a fair amount, with a mixed print dress running $475 and scarf for $120. Though more costly than other diffusion lines, it’s a great discount from Katrantzou’s usual prices!

Norma Kamali on the other hand created a line of pieces all for under $100. This isn’t Kamali’s first diffusion line. The exuberant designer was one of the first in the industry to team up with mass market giants when she collaborated with Wal-Mart in 2008 for a line of women’s children’s and wellness products. Yesterday during NYFW, Kamali debuted her latest affordable line Kamali Kouture which includes everything from tops and draped dresses, to the designer’s famous swimsuits!
This Fall Fashion Week has debuted a number of looks that have us overlooking the Summer days to come and day dreaming about the next chilly season. With everything from luxurious furs at Michael Kors to electric blue shades at Billy Reid, this NY Fashion Week hasn’t disappointed. As we reach the final stretch, we decided to put together some of our FROCK favorites from inside and outside the shows …What were your favorite looks this season?

Whitney will forever hold a place as a style inspiration in our hearts at FROCK. Below we’ve compiled our favorite looks from the archival fashion moments of Ms. Houston’s most iconic music videos and paired them with their counterparts here at our store.

R.I.P.
We may only be on Day 3 of NY Fashion Week but we’ve already found our newest obsession…Billy Reid! For his Fall collection, Reid showed tailored coats and jackets, oversized floppy hats, fur, large lapels, massive bags, and one electric blue pantsuit with ruffled jacket detail that instantly had our attention! Basically it’s everything we need in our Fall wardrobe…We loved it all!!

New York Fashion Week has just begun! Though we’re only on Day 2, a number of designers have already presented their collections for Fall. Here are some of FROCK’s favorite looks so far …

Jenni Kane

Peter Som

BCBG Max Azria
stay tuned for our top picks as the week continues …
NY Fashion Week is once again upon us. Though we’re suppose to focus on the clothes debuting down the runway, we seem to find ourselves equally amazed by the looks hitting the streets and red carpets…especially when the look is this 1980s white lace Neville Bean jumpsuit from FROCK! The gorgeous Jessica White snatched up this amazing piece and paired it with a white leather and gold trim Escada belt. We love when women are this fearless and take a style risk. After all, isn’t that what fashion is all about?!
